Gastroenterologist Khalil Abuamr, M.D., Joins Stormont Vail Health
(Topeka, Kansas, October 1, 2019) – Stormont Vail Health is proud to announce that Khalil Abuamr, M.D., has joined our medical team and will practice as a gastroenterologist, located at Cotton O’Neil Digestive Health Center, 720 S.W. Lane St.
Dr. Abuamr’s father worked in a medical supply company selling endoscopy cameras. This piqued Dr. Abuamr’s interest in the field of gastroenterology at a young age as he was interested in how the cameras worked to help patients. As he got older, Dr. Abuamr developed a passion for wanting to help people, which pushed him further into wanting to have a career in medicine as a physician.
“I want my patients to know that I care about them and their care,” Dr. Abuamr said. “Seeing the end result that helps patients improve their quality of life is what really drives me to provide high-quality care each day.”
Dr. Abuamr received his medical degree at the University of Jordan, Amman, Jordan, in 2007. He then completed an internal medicine residency in 2013 and his gastroenterology fellowship in 2016 at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Kansas City, Missouri.
Dr. Abuamr enjoys spending time with his wife and their two daughters. He is also an avid watch collector and enjoys watching soccer in his free time.
