GO Topeka Partners with City to Hold Free Educational Event

GO Topeka Partners with City to Hold Free Educational Event

Topeka, KS, November 26, 2019– Entrepreneurial & Minority Business Development (EMBD), a program of GO Topeka, will host a new, free educational event for the public to learn more about how they can do business with the Contracts & Procurement Division of the City of Topeka. “Doing Business with the City” will take place on Thursday, December 12 at the Greater Topeka Partnership, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from the City of Topeka’s Business Manager, Leigha Boling. Boling will provide guidance to businesses on how to register as a vendor for the city and how to provide goods and services related to all City operations. Attendees will also be able to review the scheduled projects for 2020.

“Businesses can partner with the City to assist in providing citizens with quality products and services.” says Boling. “They have an opportunity to bid on applicable opportunities, which when successful, will increase their market share.”

“The opportunities to do business with the City are available - and plentiful. Unfortunately, many are just not aware of this fact,” says Glenda Washington, SVP of EMBD. “We want to empower our local small business owners to unlock every available opportunity to help them grow and succeed.”

Cost to attend is free and lunch will be provided. To register for this event or to learn more, visit bit.ly/bizwithcity.
