Envista Launches Monthly Initiative to Highlight Local Organizations

The Envista Cares Challenge provides a local organization with a one-month media package and a $2,500 challenge grant. For every dollar given to the organization during the month, Envista will match up to $2,500. Giving can be done easily online at www.envistacares.com

“It is our goal to give a voice and shine a spotlight on those organizations that are doing exceptional work in our community, while encouraging our community to give,” said Tara Dimick, Senior Vice President of Business Development for Envista. “We were inspired by the old proverb, ‘It takes village.’ We are a part of that village and we are here to help.”

This month Envista has partnered with LifeHouseChild Advocacy Center for the Envista Cares Challenge. April is especially important to LifeHouse as it is National Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month.In 2018, LifeHouse conducted 342 forensic interviews of children who had been sexually abused, physically abused or who had witnessed violence. Research shows that children who are believed and supported from the first time they disclose abuse have a much better chance of recovery. LifeHouse has served Topeka for 20 years as the glue that holds everyone together as children and their families navigate this painful path.

 “We were recently asked what makes us special. It’s our passion in helping children, who have been abused or victimized, tell their story in a safe place to professionals who can help them,” said Kelly Durkin, Executive Director of LifeHouse Child Advocacy Center. “We coordinate a team to stop offenders and to help children heal. We are with them every step of the way. We are their advocate.”

In addition to the Envista Cares Challenge of a $2,500 matching gift for donations to LifeHouse in the month of April, Jim Garrison, Board Member for LifeHouse and Owner of the Jim Garrison State Farm Agency is providing a matching gift as well. 

“Envista’s challenge grant to LifeHouse in the month of April is such wonderful support in helping these kids be kids again that it has inspired my State Farm Agency to also match an additional 50 cents of every dollar up to $2,500 in donations given,” said Garrison.
