Genstler Eye Center Invests in Advanced Laser for Cataract Surgery Patients

Genstler Eye Center has invested in this cataract laser technology to expand the options available for its patients. This is the preferred treatment choice for cataract patients with low levels of astigmatism.

The LenSx laser is designed to provide more precision to the refractive cataract process. The laser uses 3-D image guided technology that maps the patient’s eye. The laser then uses a computer-guided image to perform precise incisions that would normally be made with a surgical knife.

“I am pleased to provide this technology to our patients,” said Arla Genstler, MD. “This is a great option for individuals with lower amounts of astigmatism who want their best vision without glasses.”

A cataract is a clouding of the natural lens inside your eye. Most often it is caused by the natural changes of aging. Symptoms of cataracts include cloudy or blurry vision, colors seem faded, glare around headlights, poor night vision and frequent prescription changes. The only way to treat a cataract is with cataract surgery. Cataract surgery is the most commonly performed medical procedure in the world. The surgeons at Genstler Eye Center have performed more than 30,000 cataract procedures and are enthusiastic to provide this new modality to serve the community.

“We are proud to offer our patients the most advanced technology to restore their full range of vision,” said Genstler.
