Marian Dental Clinic to Host Community Art Exhibit Promoting Mental Health Awareness
The gallery, featuring works by local artists that tell stories of recovery and hope, will be on permanent display and available for purchase after the launch at Marian Dental Clinic, located at 3164 SE 6th Ave. in Topeka. The exhibit is sponsored by the Expressive Therapies Program at Valeo Behavioral Health Care.
Marian Dental Clinic has a long history of partnership with Valeo Behavioral Health. Both organizations help to remove barriers to care for individuals suffering from mental illness, providing access to affordable, quality healthcare and while working to improve health outcomes.
This beautiful artwork will help the dental clinic create a comfortable, welcoming environment for all. The dental team at the Marian Clinic is trained in trauma-informed care and mental health first aid, and is equipped to assist those with dental anxiety and those vulnerable as a result of trauma and abuse.
“Marian Dental Clinic hopes to bring the public into our clinic spaces to view the art, share our healing ministry and help individuals overcome their fear of the dentist,” says Krista Hahn, the clinic’s executive director. Individuals can schedule to view the gallery after the launch by contacting Marian Dental Clinic directly.
