Missy Lackey
Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager

U.S. Bank

Missy Lackey is a middle market relationship manager and vice president with U.S. Bank covering the Kansas and Northern Missouri region.  She started in 2003 as a teller and worked her way through several positions in the retail bank while attending Washburn University.  Missy moved to the commercial side of the bank after she graduated from Washburn University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting.

Missy has been a commercial relationship manager with U.S. Bank since 2009.  Her skills include debt capital finance, portfolio management, credit administration, treasury management and deposit services for public, private, for-profit and not-for-profit entities.  Her goal is bring valuable ideas and solutions to her clients to accelerate their success—whether that be helping clients finance growth or acquisitions or creating efficiencies to strengthen operations and improve their bottom line.

Since moving back to Topeka, Missy has taken on several additional responsibilities within the bank, including participating in the Advance Women’s Leadership Program, leading the KS/Northern Missouri Women’s Leadership Group, and serving as the lead product champion for the East Central Lower Midwest Division.

Missy is also heavily involved in the community—serving as the chairperson of the Leadership Greater Topeka Alumni Committee and Topeka Rescue Mission’s Christmas Gift Drive.  Missy also volunteers at her children’s school teaching Junior Achievement to both 2ndgraders and 5thgraders and with Sunflower soccer as a volunteer coach.  Missy was a 2015 graduate of Leadership Greater Topeka and was named to Topeka’s 20 under 40 in 2016 and a rising leader for downtown Topeka redevelopment in 2017.  Missy considers Topeka home and has been impressed at the positive momentum she’s seen in the Community.

TK: What inspires you?
MISSY:
I would have to say my biggest inspiration has been my family—from my mom & dad who always told me I could do anything and pushed me to give everything 110%, to my amazing husband that has supported me throughout my career to our kids that consistently exude creativity, energy and passion in all that they do.

TK: What advice do you have for others?
MISSY:
Believe in yourself, challenge yourself and never let an opportunity go by without seizing it!

TK: What is the greatest lesson you have learned on your journey?
MISSY:
Don’t be too hard on yourself.  Most likely, you are your own biggest critic.

The YWCA is on a mission to empower women at all stages in their careers. Diversity in leadership is particularly vital to our vibrant business community in the Greater Topeka Area.

The YWCA is celebrating 31 years of recognizing Women of Excellence in our community with the theme “Dare to be Powerful.” We dare to be powerful, despite whatever obstacles may present themselves along the way.

“When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.”
- Audre Lorde
