Visitors to NOTO Live will See Redbud Park Stage
Visitors to NOTO Live this Friday will not only enjoy live art throughout the district, but will also see the early installation of the Redbud Park stage, a central feature of the park. “Over the past several months infrastructure work has been underway in the park, but not much has been visible," said Thomas Underwood, NOTO Arts and Entertainment District Executive Director. "The installation of the stage structure at the pavilion will mark a significant step toward the completion of the park, which is still planned for November 2."
Construction of the stage will take place Thursday and Friday, with install of the structure crown planned for Friday morning. NOTO Live festivities start at 4:30 with performances on two stages, one at the NOTO Arts Center and the other at Compass Point. A grand opening is planned at 5:30 with a procession by the Kansas Territorial Pipes and Drums. Performances continue on both stages, as well as live art at various galleries and street performances, and vendors. “The development of Redbud Park and NOTO Live are both great examples of NOTO’s investment in making this area a vibrant arts and entertainment area” said Caleb Asher, NOTO Board Chair and President of Sprout Creative.
