Clayton Wealth Partners’ Zac Pohlenz Is Awarded CFP(R) Certification
When Zac Pohlenz received news that he had passed the exam for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) credential, he saw it as a culmination of an ambition that began in college.
Back as a freshman at Kansas State University, Pohlenz decided that he would pursue personal financial planning. Possessing an aptitude for personal finance and a desire to help people, he threw himself into the world of financial services.
The CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification is one of the most highly regarded designations in the financial advice industry. It emphasizes a client-centered, comprehensive education that requires CFP® certificants to be well-versed in the following areas:
· Personal Conduct and Regulation
· General Principles of Financial Planning
· Education Planning
· Risk Management and Insurance Planning
· Investment Planning
· Tax Planning
· Retirement Savings and Income Planning
· Estate Planning
· Financial Plan Development
The credential also emphasizes experience and ethics, including a fiduciary duty to put clients’ best interests first.
“We require our Wealth Advisors to have the CFP® certification for these reasons,” said Clayton Wealth Partners founding partner Randy Clayton, CFP®, CLU®. “Its stringent requirements mean that CFP® practitioners are well-versed in the ethics of serving as a fiduciary. And the education teaches them how to build truly comprehensive financial plans based on each client’s goals.”
Pohlenz spent the past two years working toward the CFP® certification. His coursework was capped by a rigorous six-hour exam in November 2019 to test his ability to apply financial planning knowledge to real-life situations. He is the sixth member of our team to earn the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ mark.
In addition to the CFP® credential, he has a Bachelor of Science in personal financial planning from Kansas State University. He and his family live in Topeka.
