COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Scheduled at Topeka's Lexington Park Health & Rehab

COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Scheduled at Topeka's Lexington Park Health & Rehab

Lexington Park Health & Rehab residents and staff members will begin receiving the COVID-19 vaccine starting Tuesday, December 29 from Walgreens.

Walgreens plans to administer the initial dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on-site to both staff and residents. The COVID-19 vaccine requires two doses to be fully effective, so Walgreens plans to return to Lexington Park Health & Rehab on January 19 and February 9 to ensure staff and residents are fully inoculated.

Lexington Park Health & Rehab leadership is grateful to be among the first receiving the vaccine.

“We feel so fortunate to be offering the vaccine to our residents and staff,” said Lexington Park Health & Rehab executive director, Michael Boulton. “We cannot thank Walgreens and the CDC enough for prioritizing our community and senior living communities across the country.” Lexington Park Health & Rehab is currently caring for 53 seniors and has nearly 100 staff members who will be offered the new COVID-19 vaccine. The COVID-19 vaccine is not required, but Boulton is urging residents and staff to consider taking it.

“We are strongly encouraging residents and staff members to consider the benefits of the vaccine, the findings from the FDA, and to consult the advice of their primary care physician if they have concerns,” Said Boulton.
