“Topeka Strong” T-Shirt Sales to Support the HOST Relief Fund

Topeka, KS, March 31, 2020 – “Topeka Strong” is not just a phrase or sentiment; it’s a creative way for the public to support Go Topeka’s HOST Relief Program by purchasing a “Topeka Strong” T-shirt.

Last week, GO Topeka announced the creation of the HOST Relief Program to provide up to $2 million in economic stimulus for businesses and workers affected by COVID-19. HOST, which stands for Helping Others Support Topeka, is a small business resource fund developed by private sector leaders and designed to provide immediate aid. When Advisors Excel team member Angela Broxterman learned how a bar owner in Des Moines started selling shirts to raise money for his community during the coronavirus crisis, Angela talked with coworker and Associate Creative Director Kevin Johnston — and the idea of creating “Topeka Strong” T-shirts was born!

The black T-shirts, which are $23 each, plus $7 shipping, are available in adult, youth and toddler sizes. One hundred percent of the profits from sales will go to the HOST Relief Program. You can purchase t-shirts here: https://gomodern.commonsku.com/shop/28d1168f-7579-4d2b-a537-f8830db5b606.

Advisors Excel Co-founders Cody Foster and David Callanan thought the “Topeka Strong” t-shirts would be an excellent way for Advisors Excel, and its digital printing and promotional division Go Modern, which coordinated the project to show Topeka some love and help the community during a challenging time. Local Topeka printer, Reliant Apparel is joining in on the effort by printing the shirts at a discount.

“We don’t want this pandemic to erase the momentum Topeka has been experiencing in terms of economic growth and overall sense of pride,” Foster said. “We hope these shirts give our neighbors the feeling that we’re all in this together and wear their shirts proudly, knowing they are helping those in Topeka who are affected by the virus.”
