NHRA Cancels 2020 Menards Heartland Nationals presented by Minties
The 2020 Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals presented by Minties, that had been postponed from the original August 21-23 date, has now been canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions in the area that would not allow fans to attend the event. This difficult decision comes after exhaustive deliberation with track officials, local, state, and national health officials and government authorities.
On August 21st, local public health officials issued a new order mandating that outdoor entertainment venues must limit their allotted attendance to 500 people, effective immediately.
“The Menards NHRA Nationals presented by Minties is a staple event here in the Midwest,” said Chris Payne, Owner of Heartland Motorsports Park. “Regardless, we prioritize the health and safety of our fans, competitors and staff.”
Event ticket holders will have 30 days to request a refund from NHRA by calling 1-800-884-6472, or the tickets will be automatically applied to next year’s NHRA National event at Heartland Motorsports Park that will be held in June 2021. Ticket holders will receive an email from NHRA outlining these options. Tickets purchased at Menards stores will be available for refund at those same locations.
Starting in 2021, if ticket holders hang on to their 2021 Heartland Nationals ticket stub, they can receive free entry into the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Double Header in July at Heartland Motorsports Park, featuring Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car.
