Hairstylist Dee Strecker wanted a salon space where she could meet with clients in privacy. She also wanted to answer to herself and be responsible for her own business, without the stress of the upkeep of a building. Sola Salon Studios offered exactly what she was searching for, and she was the first person to sign up for a salon in the building when it opened.
Strecker has been a hairstylist for 16 years. She came to the profession later in life, when her boys were in college. Since she loved doing hair, she decided to take a chance on cosmetology school, and the move paid off.
“At Studio Dee, my clients are offered a private salon experience,” Strecker said. “We have the opportunity
to enjoy personal consultations without interruptions or distractions. My clients often tell me how much they appreciate the ability to have confidential conversations in the private space. It enables us to build our relationships. Knowing them on a more personal level allows me to better make suggestions on hair styles and other beauty options.”
Strecker was able to personalize her studio space and really make it her own. “I love to decorate,” Strecker said. “I can change for the seasons, or just change because I feel like it. No questions asked. My clients seem to enjoy and notice this part of me. That may seem like a small thing, but it’s part of my personality.”
The beauty professionals at Sola Salon Studios support each other and build each other up. A wide range of beauty services are available at Sola Salon Studios, which means each stylist taps into a diverse network of connections and allies on site.
“As a Sola family, we are always there to promote and encourage each other,” Strecker said. "It is the best of both worlds. We are a community within the building.”
