CWP Partners Attend KSU’s Annual Professional Connections Event

Three Clayton Wealth Partners team members recently connected with the upcoming generation of financial advisors at the annual Professional Connections Event by the Department of Personal Financial Planning at Kansas State University in Manhattan.

Meeting with the future financial advisors were Managing Partner Clint Patty, J.D., and  Barbara Duncan and Elizabeth Young, both Partners, Senior Wealth Advisors, and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professionals.

The trio met with more than 70 students at the October 14 event who are pursuing their degree in personal financial planning from one of the leading universities in the industry.

“We were looking to discuss opportunities for future summer interns and potential financial planners who want to work with a fee-only, fiduciary firm,” said Duncan, herself an alumna of the KSU program.

Young, who also has a personal financial planning degree from the program, said the Professional Connections Event offers a great way to introduce Clayton Wealth Partners to students who might feel they need to move out of the area to begin their career.

“With offices in Topeka and Lawrence, Clayton Wealth Partners gives interns and new financial advisors a way to work and live in the communities they have grown up in,” Young said.

The Department of Personal Financial Planning combines a quantitative education with coursework on how to understand and help people, including financial relationships and financial counseling. Quantitative coursework includes retirement, investment, tax, insurance, and estate planning.

“A combined emphasis on understanding financial products and how they work, as well as the role of family in financial decisions, helps you build a solid foundation that prepares you to thrive in this in-demand profession,” the school’s website states.

Patty said he always looks forward to participating in the annual connections event.

“We’ve been fortunate to hire a number of outstanding wealth advisors from the school and always look forward to talking with some really outstanding students who will make up the future of the financial services industry.”
