Washburn Tech Student Elected to SkillsUSA State Office

Kiera McNellis, a student in the culinary arts program at Washburn University Institute of Technology, was selected parliamentarian for SkillsUSA Kansas at the organization’s recent fall leadership conference. In this role, she serves as consultant and expert on parliamentary procedure using adapted resource material and oversees proper business procedure.

McNellis and other officers will travel to events across the state and share the message of career and technical education. In addition, they will visit business and industry representatives and legislative leaders to highlight the need for career-readiness.  

McNellis attends Burlingame High School.
