YWCA Northeast Kansas Announces 2021-22 Board of Directors

YWCA Northeast Kansas is pleased to announce their 2021-2022 Board of Directors, welcoming 5 new board members, and thanking 5 board members rolling off the board for their dedicated service. The YWCA board of directors is charged with overseeing and furthering YWCA’s overall strategic vision.

“The YWCA Northeast Kansas board of directors is comprised of a dedicated team of community leaders who are innovative movers and fearless shakers,” said YWCA CEO Kathleen Marker. “I am excited to work alongside these leaders as they channel their talent, expertise, and energy into tackling some of our community’s most crucial issues through the lens of social justice and racial equity.”

The 2021-22 YWCA Northeast Kansas Board of Directors Executive Committee is: President, Kaitlyn Sester (Evergy); Vice President, Gina Millsap (Retired); Secretary, Megan Schwerdt Williams (Schwerdt Contract Interiors); Treasurer, Liz Steffen (Envista Credit Union); Governance Chair, Tara James-Wallace, LSCSW (Lighthouse Therapeutic Community Outreach).

2021-22 Board Members are: Alison Beebe (Colmery-O’Neil Veterans’ Administration Medical Center); Graciela Berumen (Washburn University); Kayla Bitler Loschke (Kansas Gas Service); Paige Blevins (Kansas Department of Insurance); Cassie Weatherwax-Brack (Hill’s Pet Nutrition);  Angela Lewis (Shawnee County); Jaclyn Mullins (MCP Group); Alisha Saucedo (New Beginnings Health Care); Marcy Weekley (Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Kansas); Lakeisha Williams (Bartlett & West).

“I am eager to get to work leading the board of directors at YWCA Northeast Kansas where we get up and do the work until the world sees women, children, survivors, and people of color the way we do: equal, powerful, and unstoppable”, YWCA Northeast Kansas Board President Kaitlyn Sester said. “And so much of this work and the progress that has been made over the past several years is in large part thanks to the tireless service of my predecessor, Alison Pollock. In addition to Alison, I want to thank and recognize Athena Andaya, Angela Dailey, Sara Fox, and Susana Ortiz for their support and dedication to YWCA’s mission.”

Joining the board for the first time are: Graciela Berumen (Washburn University); Paige Blevins (Kansas Department of Insurance); Cassie Weatherwax-Brack (Hill’s Pet Nutrition);  Angela Lewis (Shawnee County); and Jaclyn Mullins (MCP Group).
