Friends of the Library Announces Book & Media Sale January 21-23
The Friends of the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library will hold their first Book and Media Sale of 2022 January 21, 22 and 23 in the library's Marvin Auditorium. Shoppers can buy quality used books, movies, music, collectibles, activities and games.
Friday, January 21 | 5 – 8 p.m. | Friends of the Library Members Only
Friday night of the sale is for Friends members only. Memberships will be available at the door. Memberships are $20 for an individual or a family starts at $30 and are good for one year from the date of purchase. Shoppers should bring their own totes, boxes, luggage on wheels, etc. to carry home their bargains.
Saturday, January 22 | 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. | Public Book & Media Sale
Admission is free on Saturday. Books will be sorted by genres. Shoppers should bring their own totes, boxes, luggage on wheels, etc. to carry home their bargains.
Sunday, January 23 | Noon – 3 p.m. | Bag Day
People can fill a grocery bag (provided) with books, movies and music for $10.
Since 1971 the Friends have gifted more than $1.9 million to the library. A significant portion of those funds come from Friends book sales.
The Friends is a membership organization of individuals who believe in the library’s mission and spread the word about library programs and services. Members receive newsletters, a discount in the Chandler Booktique, free admission to Friends events and book sales. Memberships are available in the Chandler Booktique or online.
