Kansas Chamber Announces 2023 Annual Dinner Keynote Speaker and Presenting Sponsor

The Kansas Chamber on Wednesday announced that former United States Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, will be the keynote speaker of the statewide advocacy organization’s 2023 Annual Dinner. Presenting this year’s annual meeting is online retail and web service provider, Amazon.

"It is our honor to bring in fellow Kansan, Mr. Mike Pompeo as the 2023 Annual Dinner keynote speaker,” said Chamber President and CEO Alan Cobb. “Pompeo will address his book Never Give an Inch: Fighting for the America I Love which gives a raw account of what it took to deliver winning outcomes in the face of a progressive activist media, partisan conspiracies, two impeachments and endless investigations, and the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Pompeo served as the former United States Secretary of State. He previously served as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. As our nation’s most senior diplomat, he helped craft U.S. foreign policy based on our nation’s founding ideals, putting America first. America became a massive energy exporter and a force for good in the Middle East, cementing real peace through the work of the Abraham Accords.

Pompeo’s roots run deep in Kansas. Previously, he served as a Congressman for Kansas’ 4th District. He spent a decade leading two manufacturing businesses in Wichita: co-founding Thayer Aerospace, a global supplier to the world’s leading commercial and military aircraft builders and later becoming president of Sentry International, an oilfield equipment manufacturing, distribution, and service company.

"I'm so excited to speak at the Kansas Chamber's Annual Dinner this coming April. It will be a great night to see old friends and talk about the things that make Kansas, and America, so special,” said Pompeo.

Presenting the 2023 Annual Dinner is Amazon.

"The Kansas Chamber and its members are thrilled to have Amazon as this year's Presenting Sponsor of the 2023 Annual Dinner,” said Cobb. “Although headquartered in Seattle, the company has a strong presence in Kansas with six fulfillment and sortation centers and more than 8,000 employees.”

Since 2010, Amazon has invested more than $4 billion dollars in Kansas in infrastructure and compensation for its employees. Other company investments include two delivery stations, three Whole Foods Market locations and two wind farms.

“We are proud to support the Kansas Chamber and look forward to celebrating the Kansas business community and the tremendous impact it has on the state economy,” said John Estus, Amazon Kansas Policy Lead.

Estus said Amazon strives to be Earth’s Most Customer-Centric Company, Earth’s Best Employer, and Earth’s Safest Place to Work. Customer reviews, 1-Click shopping, personalized recommendations, Prime, Fulfillment by Amazon, AWS, Kindle Direct Publishing, Kindle, Career Choice, Fire tablets, Fire TV, Amazon Echo, Alexa, Just Walk Out technology, Amazon Studios, and The Climate Pledge are some of the things pioneered by Amazon.
