Stormont Vail Foundation to host 22nd Annual Golf Tournament

Stormont Vail Foundation to host 22nd Annual Golf Tournament

The Stormont Vail Foundation will host its 22nd annual BIG HEARTS Golf Tournament on Monday, Sept. 19, at Topeka Country Club. The tournament has already raised more than $230,000 in sponsorships, gifts, and registrations.

The golf tournament will have an 8:00 a.m. morning flight and a 1:00 p.m. afternoon flight, with a dinner and awards ceremony following the tournament. There are 234 registered players joining us this year.

Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the relocation and expansion of Stormont Vail Health’s Simulation Lab. Simulation training is an important component of Stormont Vail’s approach to providing exceptional patient care. Each year, Stormont Vail physicians and team members log around 26,000 learner hours in the organization’s Sim Lab. These hours are crucial in training with the latest surgical techniques, using state-of-the-art technologies, which allow team members to feel prepared when jumping into action in a real emergency without hesitation to deliver the very best in patient care.

“Our tournament sponsors and friends recognize the vital importance of our Simulation Lab training and have responded generously,” said Tina Long, Stormont Vail Foundation Development Officer. “Thanks to their support, we will be able to bring this valuable training tool to more providers and team members, which will transfer to the high-quality care our patients receive in and around our region for decades to come.”

This year’s honorary tournament chairs are Rick and Sheri Kendall. The presenting sponsor is the Hospital Assistance Program with Goodell, Stratton, Edmonds & Palmer and Lockton Companies serving as title sponsors.
