“The Foundation is proud to support multiple local organizations each year,” said Christina Schmitt, chief operations officer for Envista and vice president of the Topeka Credit Union Foundation. “This year we were able to provide gifts to support everything from financial literacy to animals looking for their forever homes, and services that foster the health and well-being of the aging population in our community.”
The Topeka Credit Union Foundation will award grants to the following organizations:
Capper Foundation – to purchase advanced tools and equipment for their therapeutic services programs, such as CASL-2 for language assessments and Hypervibe G10 for physical development.
Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas – to assist poverty-stricken Topeka clients in the Family Financial Transformations program that offers financial literacy and debt mitigation programs.
Child Care Aware of Eastern Kansas – to fully engage in “Math for All Ages,” a class that will be offered at no cost to childcare providers; the knowledge and tools gained from the class will allow daycare providers to incorporate developmentally appropriate activities into their daily childcare routine.
Family Service & Guidance Center – to provide outdoor therapeutic items, such as outdoor seating, enchanted water fountain, and yard games for their outdoor calming garden, adjacent to the new Youth Crisis & Recovery Center. Their hope is to create a peaceful setting, where clients and therapists can talk, think, and reflect.
Helping Hands Humane Society – to aid in reducing and waiving adoption fees as the shelter’s animal population is at its highest. This grant will allow Helping Hands Humane Society to successfully provide homes to 50 animals and enrich the lives of 50 families.
Historic Jayhawk Theatre – to provide resources needed to develop, create, implement, and market historical and educational experiences, such as History Day at The Jay, and STEAM on screen educational movie series for students.
Jr. Achievement of Kansas – to purchase personal finance programming kit materials for each area high school participating in the Personal Finance Symposium.
Topeka Habitat for Humanity, Inc. – to support “Aging in Place” holistic home repair program that engages multiple community partners, provides products, and services that foster the health and well-being of our aging population.
