The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus today announced that Dr. Stephen L. Dickson, Jr. has joined its Heart & Vascular Center.

Dr. Dickson is an accomplished cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon with 23 years of experience, specializing in robotic access lung surgery and adult cardiac surgery. He is board certified in thoracic surgery by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Dickson's commitment to advancing surgical techniques helps ensure patients receive the most modern and effective treatments available.

His care philosophy centers on providing modern cardiac and thoracic surgery in a safety-focused environment. Dr. Dickson is devoted to supporting patients throughout their healthcare journey, ensuring they receive compassionate and personalized care at every step.

He earned his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine, completed his residency in general surgery at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and his fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital. As an active member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Dickson continually strives to enhance his knowledge and skills to benefit his patients.
