Midwest Health, Inc. Welcomes Spencer Mitchell and Keegan McElroy as Associate Legal Counsels

Midwest Health, Inc. is proud to announce the recent hiring of two exceptional professionals, Spencer Mitchell and Keegan McElroy, as Associate General Counsels. Spencer joined Midwest Health in October 2024, and Keegan began her role in January 2025. Both will be based in Midwest Health's Topeka headquarters, bringing unique backgrounds, expertise, and a shared commitment to Midwest Health’s mission.

“We are thrilled to welcome Keegan and Spencer to our family,” said Jennifer Sourk, General Counsel of Midwest Health. “They will play an integral role in our legal operations and support our teams in the field as we continue to grow. Having them both based in our Topeka headquarters will ensure close collaboration and strengthen our company.”

With Spencer and Keegan on board, Midwest Health strengthens its commitment to fostering a family-oriented culture where expertise and compassion come together to serve our communities.

Spencer Mitchell
Raised in Wakefield, Kansas, Spencer Mitchell brings a unique perspective to Midwest Health thanks to his military service and legal acumen. A proud veteran, Spencer served in the U.S. Army and was deployed to the Middle East and Africa. During his 5 years of military service, he achieved the rank of Sergeant and was an infantry squad leader.

After completing his service, Spencer earned his Bachelor of Public Administration from Washburn University and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa. His passion for helping others has led him to support various veterans’ organizations, particularly those that assist military personnel in transitioning to civilian life.

Spencer’s personal interests include reading, traveling, and supporting his favorite sports teams: the Chiefs, Kansas State Wildcats, and Iowa Hawkeyes.

Keegan McElroy
A native of Olathe, Kansas, Keegan McElroy comes to Midwest Health with extensive legal experience and a strong dedication to community service. After earning her undergraduate degree in Child, Youth, and Family Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Keegan obtained her Juris Doctorate from Washburn University School of Law in 2019.

For over five years, Keegan excelled as a family law advocate, specializing in cases involving divorce, parentage, child custody, and child support. Her work has consistently reflected a deep commitment to justice and family well-being.

Keegan is also an active leader in the Topeka community. She serves on the boards of the Topeka Bar Association, CASA of Shawnee County, and the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library. Additionally, she co-chairs the Great Topeka Duck Race and is a member of the Sertoma Evening Club. In 2021, Keegan was honored as one of Topeka’s Top “20 Under 40” by the Jayhawk Area Council and is a graduate of the 2023 Leadership Greater Topeka class.

Outside of work, Keegan enjoys spending time with her significant other and her beloved beagle, Murphy, as well as cheering on the Chiefs and tackling DIY projects at home.
