Topeka Zoo & Conservation Center to Debut “Zoo Lights: Holidays Around the World”
The Topeka Zoo & Conservation Center is set to shine brighter than ever this holiday season with the return of its highly anticipated winter tradition presented by Evergy; Zoo Lights: Holidays Around the World is set to open Friday, November 21 at 5 p.m. with a special Garland Cutting Ceremony prior to the opening.
Now in its sixth year, Zoo Lights will transport guests on an illuminated journey across the globe, celebrating the sights, sounds, and traditions of holidays in America, China, Japan, Mexico, Africa, the Arctic, the Caribbean, and a whimsical Winter Wonderland. Each themed zone features dazzling light displays, festive décor, and immersive experiences that highlight the beauty of global holiday celebrations.
“This year’s theme brings a unique cultural dimension to Zoo Lights,” said Fawn Moser, COO. “Our team has worked tirelessly to create an experience that celebrates the holiday season with a global feel.”
Beyond the lights, the event presented by Evergy serves as one of the Zoo’s largest annual fundraisers, supporting animal care, education programs, and local and international conservation efforts.
“Zoo Lights has become a beloved Topeka tradition,” said Moser. “Every ticket helps us care for the incredible animals who call the Zoo home and continues our mission to inspire conservation of wildlife and the natural world.”
