The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus welcomes cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. Juan Carlos Geronimo
The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus is pleased to welcome Juan Carlos Geronimo, M.D., to its growing team of providers at the Heart and Vascular Center.
Dr. Geronimo is a board-certified general and thoracic surgeon. Originally from the Dominican Republic, he earned his medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra. He completed a residency in general surgery at New York Medical College at Metropolitan Hospital Center, followed by a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Albany Medical Center and a cardiac surgery aortic fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Cardiothoracic surgeons treat conditions such as coronary artery disease, heart valve disease and diseases of the aorta. They also perform procedures to treat cancers of the lungs and esophagus. At St. Francis, the cardiothoracic surgery team provides highly specialized, expert surgical care and support tailored to each patient’s needs.
Dr. Geronimo will be performing both cardiac and thoracic surgery with a special focus on minimally invasive lung surgery, coronary bypass procedures and transcatheter valve replacements. He is accepting new patient referrals.
