Kay McFarland Charitable Trust Celebrates the Launch of Grandma Gummy’s Garden
The Kay McFarland Charitable Trust is thrilled to invite you to the launch of Grandma Gummy’s Garden, a heartwarming children's book that celebrates the love of gardening, community, and storytelling. Join us on March 20 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the beautiful Kay McFarland Japanese Garden for an event filled with inspiration and community spirit.
Generously hosted by the Kay McFarland Charitable Trust, Lasting Legacy Online, the Rotary Club of Topeka, and the Topeka Zoo, this special occasion honors a narrative centered on Kay McFarland, former Chief Justice of the Kansas Supreme Court, her dear friend Elaine Schwartz, and the enduring importance of community service.
Event Highlights Include:
Meet and Greet: Engage with Grandma Gummy’s Garden author Shawn Wesner, illustrator Devin Wineinger, and the publisher.
Delicious Lunch: Enjoy a complimentary lunch amidst the serene surroundings of the Japanese Garden.
Community Connection: Discover Lasting Legacy Online—a free website where you can share your life’s story with family and friends.
Please Note: This event is geared towards an audience that can appreciate extended speaker sessions and the quiet, reflective atmosphere of the event. For this reason, attendees under 12 are not recommended, as the format may not be suitable for younger children.
This event is free to the public and offers an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow community members while celebrating literature, gardening, and the power of storytelling.
