20/20 Vision: The Women’s Fund Celebrates 20 Years of Impact and Looks Ahead to the Future

“The Women’s Fund,” a donor-advised fund of the Topeka Community Foundation hosted its highly anticipated Annual Luncheon on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, celebrating two decades of community impact while unveiling and inspiring vision for the next 20 years.

This year’s theme, “20/20 Vision: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future,” reflected the organization’s commitment to celebrating its legacy while setting ambitious goals for the decades ahead. The event brought together local leaders, philanthropic partners, grantee organizations, and longtime supporters for an afternoon of recognition, reflection, and renewal.

The Women’s Fund grants to projects and programs that benefit women and children in Shawnee Co. Annual grant recommendations are based on research, community collaboration and through a grant application process. Since The Women’s Fund started in 2005, more than $700,000 has been awarded. The Women’s Fund made seven grants in 2025, totaling $53,042. This year’s awardees, Friends of Recovery, Girls On the Run, Junior League of Topeka, Kansas Children’s Discovery Center, The Library Foundation, The Bridge and Topeka Habitat for Humanity will be present at the event with information about their organization’s mission and provide a closer look at the programs being funded through The Women’s Fund. Following the luncheon, a special check presentation from the Board of Directors will recognize this year’s grantee organizations and celebrate the collective investment in community-driven progress.

The Women’s Fund is committed to supporting groundbreaking solutions to complex problems facing women and children, while focusing on access to healthy foods, affordable housing, arts/STEAM programming, financial literacy, and health/mental health access in our community.

To date, approximately $1,000,000 has been contributed to The Women’s Fund. One half of each contribution is used for grants, the other half is held in an endowment, ensuring the Fund impacts the community for years to come.
