Topeka (KS) Links Honor Mother’s at 2nd Annual Mother’s Day “WEAR YOUR CROWN” Brunch and Positive Image Awards

“The Topeka (KS) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is holding their beloved second annual Mother’s Day Brunch and Positive Image Awards on Saturday, May 10th at Townsite Tower Ballroom says the organization's president, Monice Crawford. “Last year we sold out and our patrons have asked for more. We are an affordable program for which families can bring their mothers and mother figures, knowing they will feel special and cherished. Everyone who attends has a good time. This year’s theme is WEAR YOUR CROWN, which epitomizes both the majesty of mothers and the tradition of wearing beautiful hats to celebrate the holiday.”

This year’s homage to mothers includes a sumptuous buffet, silent auction, scholarships, dancing, and a best hat contest called “Strut Your Crown.”

New in 2025 is THE MEN’S CHORUS, with Jonathan Andrews as Musical Director. An avid harmonizer, he has been the director of the Capital City Chorus for 13 years, and is a member of DoubleStuff Barbershop Quartet. The Men’s Chorus will perform a musical tribute honoring mothers.

The keynote address will be given by Linda P. Jeffrey, JD, a former Kansas Assistant Attorney General, who is known far and wide for her “pearls of wisdom.” Our Mistress of Ceremonies for a second year is the incomparable Linessa Frazier, an Organizational Change Manager and woman of many accolades.

The Topeka (KS) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated will also continue a 29 year tradition of recognizing extraordinary Kansas women with our Positive Image Awards. Our 2025 Honorees are Donna Rae Pearson for groundbreaking research and distinguished community service, and Dr. Norma A. Juma, a globally respected change maker who exemplifies the highest standard of academic excellence and community contribution.

The Mother’s Day Brunch and scholarships are supported by the contributions of Moore Digital Print & Mail Center – Topeka, Capitol Federal, and Washburn University.
