The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus Names New Chief Financial Officer

The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus has announced the promotion of Michael Albers to chief financial officer, effective July 14, 2025. Albers had been serving in the interim role since August 2024.

He joined the St. Francis Campus in March 2023 as assistant chief financial officer. Before that, he spent five years at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, part of Ardent Health Services, where he held leadership roles including account manager, assistant controller and controller.

Throughout his career, Albers has been recognized for his leadership in financial management, operational efficiency and performance improvement.

“We’re excited to have Michael step into this role permanently,” said Scott Campbell, CEO of The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus. “His financial expertise and steady leadership have already made a strong impact. I’m confident he will continue to help us grow strategically while maintaining the high level of care our patients expect.”

Originally from Olathe, Kansas, Albers earned bachelor’s degrees in both finance and accounting from the University of Kansas.

As CFO, Albers will oversee financial operations for the St. Francis Campus and work closely with facility, health system and Ardent leadership to align financial strategy with organizational goals and support long-term growth.
