Boys & Girls Clubs of Topeka to Break Ground on New “Adventure Oasis” Playground August 1
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Topeka will break ground on its brand-new Adventure Oasis playground on Thursday, August 1, at 1:45 PM at the Adams Club location. The revitalized play space marks the start of a bold new investment in outdoor engagement, imagination, and healthy activity for Topeka’s youth.
Part of a larger effort to reimagine the outdoor experience for Club members, the Adventure Oasis project will transform the existing play area into a vibrant and interactive destination where kids can climb, swing, explore, and grow. The design includes a multi-level structure with climbing nets, accessible play zones, integrated shade, and creative sensory components that foster movement, inclusion, and fun.
“This is more than just a playground—it’s a promise to our kids that they deserve spaces filled with energy, joy, and possibility,” said Dawn McWilliams, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Topeka. “Adventure Oasis will be a place where all children, regardless of background, can feel safe, inspired, and empowered through play.”
The project is part of the Club’s ongoing commitment to creating safe, enriching environments where kids can thrive—physically, socially, and emotionally. The Adventure Oasis initiative also ties into the Club’s broader campaign to modernize its facilities and programming to meet the needs of today’s youth.
The public is invited to join Club staff, donors, and community partners at the groundbreaking celebration.
