Futamura USA and GO Topeka Host Community Celebration Marking 10 Years of Growth in Topeka and Shawnee County
Futamura USA and GO Topeka are celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Futamura’s transition to operations in Topeka and Shawnee County, marking a decade of community partnership, job creation, and economic impact.
To celebrate and thank the community for its support, Futamura USA will host a public community celebration on May 21, 22, and 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., on the front lawn of its Topeka facility at 6000 SE 2nd St. Tecumseh, KS. The event will feature a full carnival for all ages, with a fireworks show planned for Saturday evening, May 23.
Since 2016, Futamura USA’s Topeka facility has played a key role in the region’s advanced manufacturing sector, providing high-quality jobs and contributing to the local economy. The milestone represents a shared success with GO Topeka, which supported and incentivized the acquisition of the facility a decade ago.
“This community has truly become home for Futamura,” said Michael Basore, Operations Manager for Futamura USA. “Over the past 10 years, the support we’ve received from Topeka and Shawnee County has been incredible. Our partnership with GO Topeka helped make this journey possible, and together we’ve built something that goes beyond a facility — it’s a workplace where people can build careers and a company that’s proud to call this community home.”
Futamura USA President Gen Sato expressed pride in the Topeka operation and optimism for its future.
“We are extremely proud of our team in Topeka and the quality of work produced at this facility every day,” Sato said. “This location represents innovation, dedication, and partnership. As we look ahead, we are excited for continued success at this plant and to deepen our relationship with the community that has supported us so well over the past decade.”
GO Topeka President Rhiannon Friedman highlighted the long-term value of the partnership and its economic impact.
“We are incredibly proud of the role GO Topeka played in helping Futamura establish and grow its operations here,” Friedman said. “Ten years later, we continue to see the impact through high-quality jobs that allow people to support their families and through meaningful contributions to our local economy. This is exactly why we do this work, and we are proud to celebrate Futamura’s continued success.”
As Futamura USA marks this milestone, both organizations look forward to building on the strong foundation established over the past decade, continuing to support innovation, job growth, and economic opportunity across Topeka and Shawnee County.
