Oral Health Kansas Names Brooks Robertson as Executive Director

Oral Health Kansas has named Brooks Robertson as its new executive director. Robertson will lead the statewide organization’s efforts to improve oral health for all Kansans through advocacy, public awareness and education.

Robertson brings experience in statewide advocacy, coalition building, education and training development, data-driven program management and evidence-based prevention. He most recently served as statewide prevention coordinator for Kansas Suicide Prevention Headquarters, where he coordinated statewide initiatives, developed and delivered training programs, managed grant requirements and worked with partners across Kansas.

His previous experience also includes supporting the implementation of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, preparing and presenting data for stakeholders and providing training for health care professionals, law enforcement officers, educators, government employees and members of the public.

Robertson succeeds Tanya Dorf Brunner, who led Oral Health Kansas for 17 years and recently became executive director of the American Network of Oral Health Coalitions.

Robertson earned a Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in women’s studies from the University of Kansas. He is also a certified Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training trainer and serves on the board of Arc of Douglas County.
