Afflora Financial Life Planning launches Facebook Campaign to give a total of $10,000 to 4 local Topeka Charities for #GivingTuesday
TOPEKA, Kan., November 29, 2016 –
Over the next four weeks, they are asking for your help in finding four local deserving Topeka charities to give $2,500 each for a total of $10,000.
“We are encouraging people in our community to go to the #GivingTuesday video on our Facebook and Twitter pages where they can comment and share stories about what local charities they are most passionate about” said Desmond Henry, Founder of Afflora Financial Life Planning. “Every Tuesday between now and Christmas, we will read your comments, look for inspirational stories, even shameless plugs from the charities themselves and select a winner. I was born and raised in Topeka and wanted to find a way to not only give back to the community I love but also encourage others give as well”.
#GivingTuesday, is a global giving movement in all 50 states and countries around the world. Since its founding in 2012, millions of people have come together to support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live. After two days for getting deals – Black Friday and Cyber Monday –#GivingTuesday is a day for giving back.
In 2015, nonprofits raised more than $117 million online on #GivingTuesday to help make the world a better place in countless ways. Much more was generated offline and through donations of time and other resources. People participated in #GivingTuesday activities in 71 countries around the globe last year.
