Heroes:
My heroes are women and men throughout history who have worked towards gender equality, often at great personal cost. My sister Kim is certainly on that list. She’s a trailblazer, an engineer, an advocate for human rights, a gifted artist and an awesome mom.

Best advice received:
“Keep it classy.” I’m not sure which of the women in my art collective, The Craftivists, said it first but we repeat it often. It’s wonderful advice for art, event planning, relationships and life. It’s a reminder to stay above the fray and treat people and situations with respect.

Biggest Fear:
Losing my voice.

If you had 10 minutes to talk to anyone, who would it be?
Julia Child. I imagine we’d talk about being exceptionally tall women and I hope she could tell me how a person can work up the courage to throw caution to the wind and innovate.

Involvement:
Topeka Craftivists, Artist and Button-Maker
Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Topeka, Social Justice Committee Member
College Hill Neighborhood Association, Chili Feed Planning Committee Chair
