Vaerus Aviation Receives Stage II Certification from IS-BAO International Standard for Business Aviation Operations
IS-BAO was developed by the International Aviation Business Council as a code of best practices designed to help flight departments achieve high levels of safety and professionalism. The certification acknowledges that Vaerus Aviation adheres to a significantly higher standard of excellence as well as an exceptional level of safety and efficiency. Launched in 2002, IS-BAO was designed to promote use of high quality operating practices for international operations by establishing a framework for effective safety and operational processes, providing tools to perform gap analyses to facilitate the implementation of best practices and delivery a Safety Management System (SMS) appropriate to the operational profile of the organization.
Vaerus Aviation received Stage I certification in 2014. This stage confirms that the SMS infrastructure is established and that safety management activities are appropriately targeted. Stage II ensures that safety risks are being effectively managed.
“We are incredibly proud to be one of only 306 global aircraft operators to achieve the Stage II accreditation,” said Brooks Pettit, CEO. “Developing and maintaining a Safety Management System is not required under current FAA regulation, but it is a vital part of our organization.”
At Vaerus Aviation, safety is unquestionably our first priority. By adhering to a higher standard through IS-BAO, Vaerus Aviation is globally recognized by the Federal Aviation Administration, Transport Canada Civic Aviation Authority, and the European Committee for Standards for meeting International Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.
