NexLynx Gallery of Arts journey began when selected as one of the venues for the ReThink Topeka Exhibition and Art Walk in 2010 and each year thereafter. The ReThink Topeka Exhibition and Art Walk was a movement to spur re-building community awareness through art and cultural events. NexLynx Gallery worked closely with the former Arts Council of Topeka, and now ArtsConnect, to promote art in the community as the "must see" downtown art gallery on the Topeka First Friday Art Walk.

NexLynx Gallery was the recipient of the 2017 People’s Choice Award and a finalist in 2016, nominated by people in the Topeka Community as their favorite stop on the First Friday Art Walk, a program of ArtsConnect.
