Top City Interns Meet Cody Foster
Foster discussed why he chose to invest in Topeka, developments happening in Downtown and advice for people looking to live, work and play in a city that is small enough to allow citizens to have an impact yet still large enough to offer big city amenities.
The interns, who are from Kansas and the surrounding states, left feeling more engaged than ever with what Topeka has to offer professionally and socially.
“I've spent many years of my life in Kansas yet somehow have spent very little time in our state's capital. This summer was an amazing opportunity to learn about some of the truly impressive opportunities and developments going on in ‘Top City’," says Alexander Murray, an intern with US Bank who commuted from Lawrence for the program. ”I’m already planning on returning to check out more as the city grows. Unlike any other city that I know of, Topeka seems to truly care about and consider all the thoughts young professionals have for what they want to see for their city moving forward. I'm excited to see where it goes.”
Other interns expressed gratitude for the work that Forge and GO Topeka put into the Top City Interns program. Clayton Borrows, an intern with US Bank, expressed hope that more interns from the surrounding area take advantage of the free program to learn more about Topeka’s developments.
“Growing up in Kansas City and going to KU I knew about Topeka, but Top City Interns showed me the unique and growing culture that Topeka has to offer as a place to visit or even to start a career,” said Borrows.
