Forbes Names CoreFirst Bank & Trust Best Bank in Kansas

TOPEKA, KAN (August 29, 2019) – In a recent ranking published by Forbes Magazine, CoreFirst Bank & Trust has been named the best bank in the state of Kansas. The 2019 rankings were created in partnership with the market research company Statista and Forbes.

CoreFirst was the top-ranked Kansas-based bank on Forbes’ America’s Best Banks In Each State 2019 list — one of the most respected lists in the industry. The best banks in every state were chosen based on an independent survey from a vast sample of more than 25,500 U.S. citizens, spread among all states.

“Being named the Best Bank in Kansas is such an honor and affirmation that our founding principles are guiding us well into the future,” said John Fager, CoreFirst’s First SVP - Senior Director of Sales and Marketing. “For 60 years we have collaborated with our customers, partners and neighborhoods and that will never change.”

2019 was the second year in which Forbes and Statista recognized America’s Best Banks In Each State. The survey was conducted using an online access panel. Each participant was asked to name all banks where he/she has, or previously had, a checking/savings account. Participants had to rate the bank regarding various evaluation criteria (e.g. Trust, Terms & Conditions). For each criterion, a detailed battery of questions was asked. Nationwide banks like Bank of America, Wells Fargo or Chase Bank that have branches in at least 15 U.S. states were excluded from the ranking. In every state the banks with the highest score were awarded.

CoreFirst Bank & Trust was founded in Topeka, Kansas in 1959 as Commerce Bank & Trust. Over the next five decades, Commerce built an impressive list of customer service “firsts” – all based around the core philosophy of providing outstanding banking convenience. These include offering the region’s first 24-hour ATMs, first grocery-store branches, first extended and weekend hours, and a host of technological innovations, all leading to exemplary customer satisfaction and retention. Today, CoreFirst has locations in Topeka, Lenexa, Shawnee, Olathe, Manhattan and Denver, CO.
