Sammie Schurig Joins the TK Business Magazine Team
“We are excited to have Sammie join the team,” said Tara Dimick, owner and publisher of TK Business Magazine. “She brings a wealth of skills and personality that will advance the print and online side of TK, as well as help us create new avenues to share stories about local businesses.”
Schurig is coming in after spending a year working at Young Life camps across the country. She is a communications and journalism graduate from the William Allen White School of Journalism at the University of Kansas.
“I love local business. I love telling people’s stories and showing the world what their passion is. I am excited to be using skills that I learned in school. It’s really special to see that translate into my real life now, instead of just in a classroom,” said Schurig.
Schurig has grown her passion for local businesses working at a local store, Ash Boutique, owned by Topekan Ashley Carson.
“I have learned a lot from Ashley about the importance and necessity for locally-owned businesses to succeed. They do so much for the community and are vital to the culture, economy, and pride of the city,” said Schurig. “I’m excited for everything that is going on in Topeka and to be a part of it in both jobs is a really sweet thing for me.”
