Internal Medicine Physician Kenna Babcock, M.D., Joins Stormont Vail Health

Internal Medicine Physician Kenna Babcock, M.D., Joins Stormont Vail Health

(Topeka, Kansas, Sept. 5, 2019) – Stormont Vail Health is proud to announce that Kenna Babcock, M.D., will join our team and practice as an internal medicine physician, located at Cotton O’Neil Manhattan, 1133 College Ave., Manhattan, Kansas.

Dr. Babcock chose to become a physician because of her passions for teaching, science and people. Before becoming a doctor, she shadowed a primary care physician in her hometown of Hiawatha, Kansas. Shadowing confirmed her interest in medicine, and becoming a doctor fit her passions.

“I like to teach patients about their medical conditions so they understand why I am asking them to change their lifestyle or to take a medication,” Dr. Babcock said. “Understanding the ‘why’ empowers patients to better make choices to help them live healthier lives.”

Dr. Babcock earned her medical degree in 2016 from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Kansas City, Kansas. She completed the University of Iowa-Des Moines Internal Medicine Residency Program, Des Moines, Iowa, in 2019.

“Internal medicine focuses on managing multiple complex medical conditions, which can be confusing for patients and challenging for physicians,” Dr. Babcock stated.  "I like challenges and I like simplifying complex topics so anyone can understand them. Internal medicine was a perfect fit for me."

In her free time, Dr. Babcock enjoys playing board games; her favorite is Ticket to Ride. She enjoys spending time with family, being outside and traveling.
