Palmer Law Celebrates Forty Years of Practicing Law in Topeka
Founding partner, Jerry R. Palmer, began his law career in 1966 after graduating from the University of Kansas Law School and is pleased to have reached this milestone with his namesake firm: “I am very proud that the firm has grown and continues to do good, solid work. We have such fine lawyers to carry on quality representation to injured people in Topeka and Northeast Kansas.”
Mr. Palmer has a distinguished and highly awarded law career. He was the President of the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association, he has been awarded the Certificate of Excellence three times from the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, was named a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers which is limited to 500 US lawyers under the age of 70 and was the first lawyer in the country to be certified by the National Board of Advocacy in 1980 for civil trial advocacy.
In his fifty-plus years of practicing Law in Topeka, Mr. Palmer has seen a lot of change in the community. “The interesting thing is that Topeka is going through a renaissance and things are as upbeat today as they have been in my entire practice career.”
In addition to Palmer, who is of counsel to the firm, there are currently four other partners in the firm: LJ Leatherman, Gary White, Meaghan Girard and Dustin Van Dyk. Palmer Law has been named one of the “Best Law Firms” in America by Best Lawyers for over a decade. The firm specializes in personal injury cases, auto accidents and nursing home neglect. The lawyers at Palmer Law have accumulated numerous prestigious awards over the years. Gary White was named 2013’s “Topeka Trial Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers, LJ Leatherman was named “Top Lawyer of the Year” by KC Magazine, both Meaghan Girard and Dustin Van Dyk were named as “Top 40 Lawyers Under 40” by the National Trial Association.
