20 Under 40: Sarah Morse
Sarah serves as lead counsel to four departments: Housing and Community Development, Human Resources and Inclusion, Operations Risk, and Information Technology. She recently became President of the Kansas Women Attorneys Association whose mission is to promote the efficient administration of justice, to encourage the advancement, education, and support of women in the legal profession, and to support equality and justice for all people. She also volunteers with the YWCA of Northeast Kansas.
Sarah is a board member of the Friends of the Kaw and a member of the Topeka/Shawnee County Riverfront Authority Riverfront Action Team. Sarah and her husband are currently restoring approximately nine acres in Southwest Topeka with the goal of developing walking trails and re-introducing native species to the property.

What’s one hobby you’d love to get into?
I probably already have too many hobbies, but I’m always looking to try new things. Lately, I’ve been exploring various fiber arts.
What led you to this career?
My parents are amazing role models and their example showed me the legal profession provides the opportunity for a meaningful and ever-evolving career.
What energizes you at work?
Working collaboratively with colleagues to find solutions.
