Launch of TOPSPORTS.NEWS
A multi-faceted free website devoted to sports in Shawnee County, TopSports.news, (TSN) will launch on Jan. 1, 2021.
The major emphasis of the website will be to provide timely news, event coverage and feature stories from Shawnee County high schools (Cair Paravel Latin, Hayden, Highland Park, Rossville, Silver Lake, Seaman, Shawnee Heights, Topeka High, Topeka West and Washburn Rural) and Washburn University. TopSports.news will also include news from the Kansas State High School Activities Association, Heartland Motorsports Park and other sports organizations in and around Shawnee County.
TSN feature writer is Rick Peterson four-time winner of the National Sports Media Association Kansas Sportswriter of the Year award. TopSports.news will also include columns, opinion pieces, podcasts, video interviews and photography from a staff of contributors that have more than 175 years of experience in sports journalism and broadcasting as well as guest columns from local athletes and coaches.
All content on TopSports.news will be available free of charge thanks to partnerships with local businesses and supporters of local sports.
