Kansas Gas Service Presents Grants to Community Foundations
Overland Park, KS – April 10, 2020 – ONE Gas, Inc. (NYSE: OGS) today announced that its Kansas Gas Service division will present $70,000 in ONE Gas Foundation grants to nonprofit organizations around the state to provide emergency relief assistance to residents who are directly impacted by COVID-19.
The grants will go to Topeka Community Foundation, United Way of Greater Kansas City, Wichita Community Foundation and Greater Manhattan Community Foundation.
“Kansas Gas Service is committed to making our communities better places to live,” said
Amber Oetting, regional community relations manager for Kansas Gas Service. “As your neighbors, we know that Topekan’s have an unmistakable resilience and will triumph again; just as we have in times of uncertainty in the past. We are grateful for the work of those organizations helping families and we’re honored to support those impacted as events continue to evolve.”
Topeka Community Foundation President Marsha Pope states the donation from Kansas Gas Service couldn’t have come at a better time. “The need for assistance during this COVID-19 crisis is unprecedented and pulling heavily on the resources of all nonprofit organizations. One hundred percent of this donation will go to our Live, Work & Give Fund that supports work being done to help those in our community who need it the most.”
The Live, Work & Grive Fund is designed to assist nonprofit organizations in Shawnee County that are addressing immediate relief efforts as a result of COVID-19 quarantine measures through providing direct basic needs services.

For example, the Share The Warmth program provides energy assistance to those whose immediate financial resources simply cannot cover their home-heating expenses.
“We wanted to make it easy for customers to learn of the variety of ways available to them for either paying their bill or applying for bill assistance,” said Dawn Tripp, public relations manager for Kansas Gas Service. “We also included a list of available resources from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau that may help customers and businesses during the pandemic.”
