Junior Achievement of Kansas Releases Online Virtual Learning Platform
Topeka, KS – Junior Achievement (JA) of Kansas is excited to announce a brand new website being released in conjunction with other JA areas across the country.
Created to meet the new demands of distance learning, the website provides five short volunteer videos for each grade, Kindergarten -5th Grades, and a related at-home activity for each video. Links to the website have been sent to all Lawrence, Topeka and Wichita schools that would have been served by volunteers in the classroom this school year.
In addition, educators across the state (and country) are also encouraged to use this complimentary site, not only as a way to reach the necessary state social studies standards, but also to break up the day for students to provide learning around other subject areas, such as financial literacy, workforce readiness skills and entrepreneurship.
“In today’s challenging educational environment, Junior Achievement of Kansas was called upon by our teachers and educators to create an online platform that would mimic the in-classroom education our volunteers provide,” said Ashley Charest, President, JA of Kansas.
“We are happy to say that in less than 3 weeks, we have been able to put 6 grades online with short, engaging videos, along with a simple activity that almost any household would have materials to complete.”
