Fueling Hope Spreads it's Wings For Those in Need
Fueling Hope, a charitable partnership between Capital City Oil and Fleet Fuels LLC, announced the sourcing of 39,000 pounds of frozen chicken to be donated to House of Hope, a faith-based, charitable organization in North Kansas City that is distributing food to those in need. The donation equates to a semi-full of chicken - 32,500 meals.
Fueling Hope worked with Simmons Foods of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, who supplied the frozen chicken and MNT Transportation of Topeka, Kansas, who provided the reefer trailer. Capital City Oil volunteered a driver to pick up the chicken in Arkansas, who then made the trip to Kansas City where the trailer was parked to provide easy access while keeping the meat frozen and ready to distribute.
"Fueling Hope has a strong commitment to supporting local faith-based charitable organizations," said Capital City Oil CEO Marvin Spees. "Hunger continues to impact our communities, now more than ever, and we're proud to assist in distributing these much-need resources."
"During a time of uncertainty, food and the relationships families build around the dinner table can be vitally important for the health and wellbeing of communities. Simmons is proud to join with Fueling Hope to provide this supply of high-quality protein for the House of Hope." - Mark Simmons, Chairman, Simmons Foods.
"We are so grateful for Fueling Hope’s generous donation. It will help House of Hope continue to provide food to families who need it most. We are thankful for their commitment to helping us address the increased need that we see in the Kansas City area. It is through unity and collaboration we will continue to make a lasting difference” ⁃ Liz Turner, co-founder/president of House of Hope Midwest
