Cardiology Nilay Patel, M.D., joins Stormont Vail Health

Stormont Vail Health is proud to announce that Nilay Patel, M.D., has joined our team and will practice as a cardiology physician, located at Cotton O’Neil Heart Center, 929 S.W. Mulvane St., Topeka, KS 66606.

Dr. Patel grew up in a small town in India, as he watched physicians in his community work to improve the health of those around him. He knew that becoming a physician was his calling. In medical school, cardiology was his first clinical rotation. This exposure drew him into this specialty and created a passion for learning more ways to help patients with cardiac issues. He finds cardiology to be an intellectually stimulating branch, which keeps him brainstorming.

“I see myself as a physician who strives to impact the lives of my patients positively,” said Nilay Patel, M.D. “I listen to my patients to fully understand their concerns and create a plan to provide high-quality, compassionate care,"

Dr. Patel earned his medical degree in 2012 from B.J. Medical College, Gujarat, India. He completed his internal medicine residency at Saint Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick, New Jersey, in 2017. In 2020, he completed his cardiology fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.

Dr. Patel enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and friends. Spending time hiking, cycling, and river rafting helps him clear his head and focus on his patients while at work.
