2021 Young Artist Awards
Applications are now being accepted for the 2021 Young Artists of the Year Awards. The deadline for submissions is 6pm on March, 31st.
The Topeka Performing Arts Center Young Artists Awards Program was conceived in 1995 to recognize Shawnee County high school juniors who excelled in fine arts. The program celebrates their contributions to the enrichment of their schools and their community, and to encourage students' continued achievement in the arts.
Annually in spring, any Shawnee County high school junior can be nominated in one of nine awards categories: instrumental music, musical theater, vocal music, dramatic theater, dance, visual arts, technical theater, creative writing, and community services in the arts. A panel of judges reviews the nominees' work to choose the best in each category.
“The Young Artists of the Year Awards have been a tradition at TPAC since 1995,” said Larry Gawronski, Executive Director. “We are thrilled to give Topeka youth the chance to further their education and pursue their dreams of working professionally in the Arts.”
Awards were made possible by a generous scholarship from Hill’s Pet Nutrition.
