Topeka’s Professional Women in Building Council donates to three local non-profits.
The Professional Women in Building Council (PWB) of the Topeka Area Building Association (TABA) is excited to announce three local non-profit partners for 2021. The PWB selected Topeka Habitat for Humanity, the YWCA Center for Safety and Empowerment, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Topeka as its partners for 2021. Through this partnership, each of these agencies will receive $1,000 andvolunteer support from PWB members. “We are excited to partner with these agencies that do so much to support the community. We made a three year commitment in 2020 to provide a financial donation and volunteer support to each of these agencies annually. We have enjoyed volunteering on various building projects and feel grateful to be able to contribute financially during these difficult times” said Nikki MacMillan, PWB Topeka President 2021.
The funds donated annually by PWB are raised through a silent auction hosted by the Topeka Area Building Association. “We are very thankful to the TABA community for supporting these efforts. Not only are we able to donate to these three agencies but we are also able to set up a scholarship for young women interested in pursuing careers in the building industry and an emergency fund for TABA families that have experience a crisis. This community is very generous and we are happy to be a part of it” said Deena Temming, PWB Topeka President 2020.
