Stormont Vail Announces Flu Shot Clinics

Stormont Vail Health will hold specialty flu vaccination clinics in the month of October for established Cotton O’Neil patients.

Adult drive-thru flu shot clinics will be held on October 7 and October 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The drive-thru clinics will be for adults only who are 19 and older, established Cotton O’Neil patients, and who have previously had a flu shot with no complications. The drive-thru flu shot clinic will take place in the Stormont Vail Surgery parking garage, at the corner of 10th St. and Garfield Ave.

Pediatric walk-in flu shot clinics will be held on October 21 and October 28 from 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This walk-in flu shot clinic is for Cotton O’Neil pediatric patients who are 7 months and older and have previously had the flu shot. The Vaccines for Children Program is accepted at this clinic. The walk-in clinic will take place at Cotton O’Neil Pediatrics Gage, 4100 S.W. 15th St. Topeka, KS 66604.

Public flu shot appointments are available at the Stormont Vail Retail Pharmacy. Call (785) 235-8796 to schedule an appointment. You do not have to be a Cotton O’Neil patient.

The seasonal flu vaccine is especially important for pregnant women, people 65 years of age and older, and others with chronic illnesses such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease and lung disease. People with chronic illnesses may have an increased chance of developing pneumonia as a result of getting the flu. Those who may have close contact with high-risk individuals including infants should also be vaccinated. That might include adults or children living with or caring for people at high-risk of developing complications.

Consent forms in English and Spanish are available at stormontvail.org/flu and may be completed and brought to the seasonal flu shot clinic to save time.
