The Library Foundation Elects New Officers & Trustees

The Library Foundation, Inc. is governed by a Board of Trustees that serves in planning, fund-raising, and stewardship roles for the benefit of the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library.

Judy Moler - The Library Foundation.jpg

Judy Moler is a retired attorney, most recently serving as General counsel for the Kansas Ethics Commission. Judy is an active member of the community having served on many boards in leadership roles. She is current President of the Stormont Vail Auxiliary and serves on the Shawnee County Planning Commission.  Judy has loved reading all her life and is proud to serve as Chair of the Library Foundation Board.

Kim Patton is an elementary school librarian at North Fairview in Seaman USD 345. In addition to the Library Foundation, she currently serves on the Board of Directors of Ballet Midwest and is the secretary of the North Fairview Elementary PTO. She is a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, the Sunrise Optimist Club, the Kansas Association of School Librarians/Kansas Library Association, the American Library Association, and is an active volunteer at the Topeka Zoo.

Clint DeVoe is Vice President - Deposit Services Manager at Capitol Federal Savings. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in business management from Washburn University. DeVoe’s community involvement includes United Way of Greater Topeka’s Financial Stability Impact Council, Washburn University Leadership Institute - Board Leadership Development program and United Way Young Leaders Society. 

Jeri Hansen, Robert Maxwell, Mike Munson, and Cynthia Sheppeard were each elected to their first three-year term as Foundation trustees.

Jeri Hansen is a community advocate who retired from Capitol Federal as a Human Resources in 2016. She is a member of the Topeka South Rotary, AJ Chapter of P.E.O,, a Women’s Club Advisory Board Member and a sustaining member of the Junior League of Topeka.


Robert Maxwell - The Library Foundation.jpg

Robert Maxwell is a semi-retired Executive Vice President and Trust officer of Kaw Valley Bank. He was the Head of Trust and Wealth Management for 36 years. Now he works part time aiding in those capacities. He is an active member of Kiwanis, serving in state and international roles in addition to serving on the Board of Directors for the Jayhawk Area Council, on the Valeo Foundation and Brewster Place Foundation and volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Mike Munson is Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Central National Bank a Kansas financial institution which is headquartered in Junction City, KS. Active in the Topeka community, Mike serves on the Board of Directors of TARC, , is  a past president of The 20/30 Club of Topeka, Inc and currently serves as vice-chairman of the Metropolitan Topeka Airport Authority.

Cynthia Sheppeard is a litigation attorney and partner with Goodell Stratton Edmonds & Palmer LLP. She serves as Chancellor for Grace Episcopal Cathedral, is a member of Topeka JUMP, the Kansas Association of Defense Counsel, Kansas Association of Hospital Attorneys, Topeka Lawyers Club, and the Class of 2019 Leadership Greater Topeka.

 

Other Library Foundation Board Trustees include Bruce Burns, Alan Conroy, Haley DaVee, Brenda Dietrich, Linessa Frazier, Ralph Hoyos, George Vega and Carol Wheeler.  Erin Aldridge serves as Executive Director and Janel DeLeye serves as Development Professional for The Library Foundation.

The Library Foundation was formed in 1982 for purpose of securing resources that support the collections, programs, services, technology and physical facilities of the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library. The Foundation pursues this purpose by seeking philanthropic support, by providing conscientious stewardship of the assets in its care, by encouraging appropriate community partnerships, and by advocating on behalf of the library’s mission in our community.
