What is your spirit animal?
I'm not Native American so my Patronus is probably the flamingo. Majestically awkward!
What do you wish someone had told you a long time ago?
Grownups are faking it. We're just doing our 18-year-old best with more information and a better budget. But if we have enough courage and situational awareness, if we are thoughtful and cognizant of others, we can adjust the tempo of any room, facilitate real conversation and find the compromise that allows for growth.
What leader do you admire the most?
Michelle De La Isla without question. What I learn from her on what to fight, when to fight it and how to fight graciously has 1000% changed my life.

How would you spend a million dollars?
I would find every Kansas high school marching band program (4A or lower) that's trying to raise money for new band instruments and uniforms, and provide them with the funding to do so. I'm a band geek at heart and have seen firsthand how hard it is to raise money for those items. I also believe that investing in someone's educational future could be THE chance to save and inspire someone's life... so if I could do that through music, well that would simply be amazing.
